Changes

Life can change in an instant.

One phone call, one look, one decision can change the course of an hour, a day or a lifetime.

I realized this the other day as I sat with a friend who had one of those moments. It is incredible to me how involved we are in the world around us even if we don't need to be....

I just had a moment like that while taking a break from writing.

Now is a time for change. Now is the time for me to look at the past and learn from what I've done and who I've been. Now is the time to commit to change for the better.

I will look at where I want to be in order to decide who I will be today. This is a matter of my daily interactions with my peers but also with my Heavenly Father. It is through the strength granted by the Holy Ghost that I will be able to make and keep these changes in my life. I will become the person I want to be. I will rely on the Lord to help me as I wean myself off my old habits and desires. I need all the help I can get as  I step forward and climb upwards. From now on, it is up to me how I respond to things and who I let into my heart. Starting today I will think about my actions. I am a part of something bigger than myself and I am willing to sacrifice my temporary desires for my eternal needs. Some things I used to think were important to me may fall by the wayside, I will let them be. I'm done chasing ghosts and checking my rear view mirror.

I am a new person.
I am a faithful person.
I am a strong person.
I will rely on the Lord and He will see me through.

  1. Seli, that was beautiful! I love you so much and you will do wonderful things wherever you go. Those kids in Russia will be lucky to have you! Good luck and do your best; the Lord will do the rest.

    I miss you.
